I’m looking at the dorms at Tsinghua University just to compare them with what I’m arranged with at Indiana University. Since I’m staying in a single, I looked at the single for Tsinghua:
Included in this is a color tv, a telephone, and air conditioning. Look at how tall that ceiling is too. Oh and did I mention, IT HAS IT’S OWN PRIVATE BATHROOM.
Oh, well it’s Tsinghua, and if the dorms are this nice, it’s gotta cost more than living in IU, right? Well the price of living in a single at Tsinghua is about 80 RMB per day. Now if I’m in school for about 265 days, that’s about 21,200 RMB. Convert that to USD and it’s about $3119. A single at IU is costing me $5771.
“I felt successful when I bought a refrigerator [a couple months ago]. My first appliance. People told me playing music wasn’t a “real” job. Who’s laughing now!!??? I bought my own fridge!!! I’m a real adult!”—Sara Quin (via steelinmypalm) (via girlwithatie) (via fuckyeahsaraquin)
Why do I have 2 versions of this song in my Most Played list on iTunes? They’re not even different versions. It’s the same song just on different albums! I’ve been infected with K-Pop fever this summer. It’s horrible.
(Don’t worry. This isn’t really my favorite song. I’m saving the real favorite for another day.)

This being a -hundredth post, I feel obliged to make it a text post.
I honestly have very little to say though. Summer has been incredibly good so far. Hopefully, it will only get better. Most days now, I don’t have a car, but I spend a lot of my time re-learning Chinese (through mother-distributed homework and Rosetta Stone) and exercising. Oh and I graduated from high school last week. I don’t know if I mentioned that before. For some reason, graduating has suddenly made me more nervous about college life. Since my high school grades were a little eff-ed up (thank you Honors Algebra II and Pre-Calculus), I didn’t get invited to the Hutton Honors Program at IU. So there’s a lot of pressure for me to do well enough my first semester so I can get in.
Speaking of college, I was looking through my IU University Division Guide which has a list of all the classes I can take as an incoming freshman. There are so many things I want to do:
Jeet Kune Do
Hip Hop Dance
Human Rights and Social Movements
Videogames: History and Social Impact
History of Rock ‘n Roll Music
Espionage in the Twenty-First Century
Survey of Hip-Hop
World Music and Culture
Great Wall of China
A Question of Love
Intro to Asian American Studies
Not to mention the MANY language courses I wish I could take. Why can’t I just major in Random Knowledge?
